Road Closure on Santa Ana Avenue between Cherry Avenue and Redwood Avenue

Santa Ana Ave. between Cherry Ave. and Redwood Ave. will be closed for the construction of sewer and storm drain utilities, beginning on Monday, August 5. Construction is expected to take approximately six weeks.

The installation of the recycled water pipeline on Baseline Ave and S. Heritage Cir between Americana Way and Cherry Avenue will begin Monday, July 29. Westbound lanes at the west end of S. Heritage Cir will be closed during construction hours.

Ken Hunt is retiring after 20 years as Fontana City Manager. The formal announcement was made Monday during a special meeting of the City Council.
Michael Milhiser, former City Manager of Ontario, Montclair and Upland, was appointed interim City Manager.

Traffic Signals to be Installed at Five-Way Stop Intersection

Traffic signals will be installed at the existing five-way stop intersection of Merrill, Oleander and Fontana Avenues beginning Mon., June 3 - Fall 2019. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Mon. through Fri.

Fontana Awarded Grant for Safe Routes to School Project

The City was awarded nearly $1.5 million in Active Transportation Program (ATP) grant funding to improve pedestrian infrastructure near Fontana High School, Truman Middle School, and Cypress Elementary. Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2021.
