Overtime Inspection Requirements

Overtime Inspection Scheduling

Inspections need to be scheduled 48 hours in advance. Overtime Inspections must be scheduled Monday - Thursday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Please fill out the required overtime inspection form  Overtime Request Form then email to engineering@fontana.org for processing. Once approved you will receive an emailed invoice with an approved copy of your request.

• Payment is required prior to the requested inspection date; if the payment is not made within time, services will not be provided. 
• Overtime approval is based on availability of staff.
• Engineering overtime inspection fees are calculated at $125 per hour in 2-hour increments (minimum of 2 hours per request).
• Any additional inspection time incurred over the approved time will be charged at the hourly rate in 2-hour increments.
• Overtime for signal flash/power interruption is calculated at $250 per day, per signal.
• There will be no refunds or credit for cancellations. 
• The inspector will not be bound to your project exclusively.
• All work done in the absence of inspection will be rejected and subject to removal. 
• Any contractor working within the vicinity of a signalized intersection while failing to schedule City-requested flash operation will be shut down. 
• Contractors can be cited under City Code Sections 25-121 and 25-123(a).  
• For all inspections, please ensure that a copy of the approved plans and permit are always available on site for the city inspector to review during any field inspection.
