Get Relief From The Heat

When the temperature exceeds 100 F, the City of Fontana activates its cooling center at the Fontana Community Senior Center (16710 Ceres Ave.) and Heritage Neighborhood Center (7350 W. Liberty Pkwy). Hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (times may vary depending upon temperature). Please wear a face covering and remain 6 feet apart when visiting.

Summer months bring fun, sun, and heat. However, it is crucial to stay safe in high heat, especially for children, pets, those who work outside, and those with certain health conditions. Stay cool and beat the heat by following these tips:

  • Cool off at the City's cooling centers (Senior Center and Heritage Center) from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Cooling centers are activated when temperatures reach and exceed 100 degrees
  • Limit outdoor activities
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Wear light clothing
  • Wear sunscreen
  • Work outdoors early or very late in the day

Stay Safe in the Heat
