What Is the Pacific Electric Trail?
Haven’t heard of the Pacific Electric Trail (PET)? The PET spans 21 miles from Claremont to Rialto following the old Pacific Electric Railway - the largest electric railway system in the world during the 1920s. Walking, running and biking are just some of the ways to get outdoors and enjoy this beautifully maintained trail right in your backyard. You’ll find easy access to parking, water fountains, parks, community centers, and even outdoor fitness equipment.
How to Enjoy Let’s Move on the Trail
Let’s Move on the Trail consists of three main areas:
- Safety & Emergency Preparedness: Miller Amphitheater/Steelworkers’ Auditorium.
Learn about how to prepare for emergencies and take a tour of Fire Station #71, plus enjoy motorcycle, SWAT, and K9 demos from PD.
- Art & Relaxation: Art Depot.
Head over to this area for art and crafts, as well as vendor resources and giveaways.
- Active Play/Taste of Fontana: Seville Park.
Get active and enjoy fun family activities and games at Seville Park. Afterward, refuel with delicious and healthy samples from local vendors.
Connecting each area of the event is the Family Walk/Run and Bike Ride. Healthy Fontana will be giving away free T-shirts and bike helmets to those who register. The City of Fontana is proud to share our passion for health and safety with our community and hopes to make this year’s event even more spectacular than the last.
Grab your family and friends for the Family Walk/Run. Walk or run 2.2 miles beginning at Cedar Avenue on the Pacific Electric Trail at 9:00 a.m. The 5-mile bike ride starts at North Heritage Circle on the Pacific Electric Trail at 9:00 a.m. Registration is now open to participants.
