From Daisies and Tiger Cubs to Silver, Gold Awards and Eagles, the Mary Vagle Nature Center provides a wide range of programs and assistance for scouts of all ages. Let us help you complete your pin and belt-loop, or badge requirements, or work with you on service projects. We also offer exciting after-school outings and opportunities to serve the community at special events. All programs incorporate a hands-on approach to learning and utilize the living laboratory of our Jurupa Hills landscape.

Badges, Pins & Belt Loops

The Nature Center offers badge and award programs in subjects related to natural history, geology, forestry, wildlife, and conservation. The fee for badge programs and scout field trips is $5.00 per student per badge. For more information, call (909) 349-6994.

Scout candidates have completed a number of successful projects benefiting the Nature Center and surrounding park. Here are a few of our most recent Scouts and their projects. If it's your goal to receive a Scout award (Eagle, Gold, Silver), we are happy to work with you to develop an exciting project serving the local community.

MacKenzie, Briana and Melissa spent a few weekends here at the Nature Center removing grass from plant beds (where we have difficulty growing grass due to lack of sunlight) and on National Public Lands Day they planted native plants in the empty beds. We were happy to help them complete their project towards their Silver Award and learn more about water saving as well as native plants. Come visit us at the center to see the new plants as they grow.
