The City of Fontana Community Services Department's comprehensive Special Needs Program Above the Limits includes social-recreational, resource and referral, and inclusion support provided to the Fontana community. Listed below are the upcoming events and program highlights.
April 12, 2019 | Easter Celebration | 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. | Heritage Neighborhood Center | 7850 W. Liberty Parkway.
April 26, 2019 | Prom Night | 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Jessie Turner Health & Fitness Center | 15556 Summit Avenue.
The event will include dinner, dancing, live DJ, and a photo booth. Please RSVP by April 19, 2019 to the Heritage Neighborhood Center (909) 349-6968 or the Cypress Neighborhood Center (909) 349-6988. There will be a maximum of two guests per member.
Spotlight on Special Needs Ceramics
The City of Fontana offers many classes throughout the City which are inclusive for our Special Needs patrons. Special Needs Ceramics is an introductory ceramics class that focuses on exploring the basic hands-on skills and technical process of ceramics. Classes are by appointment only on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. The total course cost is $45 for 5 weeks plus an additional $20 supply fee due to the instructor. Taylor’s favorite movie is The Grinch. He enjoys eating tacos and during his free time he plays basketball and swims. During the holidays, Taylor goes to many Christmas events such as the Tree Lighting Ceremony and he loves to spend time with his family.
