To facilitate construction of additional affordable housing units, the Fontana Housing Authority purchased 5.02 acres located at the northwest corner of Valley Boulevard and Juniper Avenue. This vacant property represented an excellent opportunity for neighborhood revitalization through the completed construction of 50 two- and three-bedroom, town-home style housing units with no less than 2,000 square feet of community area, including a community room, multipurpose room, office areas, and miscellaneous other uses. Laundry facilities are included within each unit. Outdoor amenities include a swimming pool as well as patios and other open space. The apartments will be affordable to very-low income families (with incomes at or below 50% of the median income).
The Paseo Verde apartments have brought the City an additional fifty affordable housing townhomes. They are centrally located near shopping centers, medical facilities and public transportation, creating a pedestrian friendly community for its residents.
