FONTANA -
The Fontana Police Department has been made aware of
allegations of misconduct concerning some of our employees over the July
4th weekend. It is alleged that department employees
participated in a gathering on city property in which illegal fireworks
were used. The initial information indicates the employees involved with
the allegations were off duty at the time of the incident.
The department is taking these allegations seriously and
has initiated an internal affairs investigation to determine if there
are any violations of any law or policy. Because of the ongoing
investigation, the sensitive nature of personnel investigations, the
department is precluded from responding to any questions related to the
investigation, or from identifying any involved personnel.
Press releases will be provided to keep our community
informed to the extent allowed by law.
