The Redevelopment and Special Projects Department provides technical and policy support to the City Council on transportation issues affecting local and regional goods movement. Staff works closely with local transportation agencies that legislate on transportation policy or approve transportation funding, including: Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), Metrolink, San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG), Caltrans, Federal Highway Administration, and Air Quality Management District-South Coast (AQMD). The Department actively pursues transportation grants for project development. Over the past several years, Staff has been successful in obtaining over $56.2 million in transportation funds that directly benefit Fontana residents and businesses.
