Solid Waste & Recycling

ON EXTREMELY WINDY DAYS.

The Solid Waste & Recycling Program coordinates the weekly disposal of your refuse, recyclables, and green waste materials. Your efforts help to conserve natural resources, save energy, and extend the life of the landfills.

The City currently contracts with Burrtec Waste Industries to provide city refuse and recycling disposal services.

Solid Waste information can be found in Chapter 24 of the City of Fontana Municipal Code.

The City offers:
  • Free curbside removal of large or bulky items (stumps,appliances, etc.) twice per year; call for details.
  • Reduced rates to senior and handicapped residents.
  • Complimentary pull-out or back-yard services for senior and handicapped residents.
  • Free additional Recycling and Green Waste containers.
For an additional charge, the City offers:
  • “Rent-A-Bins” three cubic yard and larger sizes.
  • Pull-out or back-yard services.
  • Additional refuse containers.
Solid Waste Tagging

Orange tags will be placed on refuse/recycling containers for various reasons including, but not limited to:
  • Non-recyclable material placed in mixed recyclable or green waste containers. Click her to view a list of acceptable recyclable items - English or Spanish
  • Waste is not placed in automated containers provided by Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc.
Containers that have been tagged will not be picked up until the problem has been corrected.
