many, knowing it's not going to waste makes letting go much
easier. Here, some charitable solutions. These agencies have
no affiliation with the City of Fontana and links are provided

Don't Throw Out Old Sneakers, Recycle Them
The Nike Reuse-a-Shoe program recycles pairs of athletic shoes
(22 million in 1999) of any brand and makes them into athletic

Helping Ladies Dress for Success
Dress for Success is a non-profit organization helping
low-income women make tailored transitions into the workforce,
suiting over 20,000 clients internationally since 1996. They'll
gratefully accept your interview-appropriate suits and blouses.

Organ Donations? Actually if you donate your old car, you'll
be helping out.
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) runs the Kidney Cars Program,
a free service for donating your unwanted car, which helps the
NKF fund public and professional education, patient and community
services, research and organ donation programs. Call 888-319-CARS

Don't trash it; Put your old computer to use
The National Cristina Foundation will welcome your obsolete
computer. This not-for-profit organization's goal is to insure
access to computer technology and give people with disabilities,
students at risk and the economically disadvantaged the opportunity,
and training, to lead more productive lives. To donate, call

Protect the environment; recycle those old computer disks
with GreenDisk
Personal computer users throw away an estimated four million

Give the Gift of Sight
Donate your old eyeglasses to Give the Gift of Sight, a program
run by Lens Crafters and Lions Clubs International. They will
clean, repair, classify by prescription, and hand-deliver them
to a needy person in a developing country. Their goal is to
help two million people by the year 2003. Drop eyeglasses off

Children grew out of their clothes? Interested in selling
them?
Once Upon a Child will buy your gently used children's apparel,

Donate anything to the Goodwill
Goodwill Industries provides retail jobs as well as technical
job training to people with disabilities or disadvantages. The
over 1,700 retail stores across the United States and in Canada
accept clothes, appliances, computers and furniture. Your local
