Release Date: 3/16/09

Fontana, California, March 16, 2009. The Mayor and City Council remind Inland Empire residents that registration for the Fontana Roller Hockey program for youth between the ages of 10 and 16 will end on Wednesday, April 9, 2009. Fees are $45 for residents and $55 for non-residents. Spaces for non-resident registration will be made available online or at any neighborhood center beginning Tuesday, April 1.

The Fontana Roller Hockey program is one of the only of its kind in the area and has three divisions. All games and practices are held on the state-of-the-art rink located at Fontana Park 15556 Summit Avenue.

Teams are taught by volunteer coaching staffs that have been trained in the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) an award-winning program "Connector of the Year" which has educated more than 5,000 parents and coaches on the principles of positive coaching, and for making a difference in the lives of thousands of young people.

This program has received national recognition and is one of the many reasons Fontana was recently named one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People by America’s Promise Alliance.
