The Mayor and City Council invite the public to come out and play at Fontana’s “Christmas in Toyland”. The 10th Annual Festival of Winter takes place on Saturday, December 12 at Miller Park located at 17004 Arrow Boulevard. This free event starts at 11:00 am and concludes at 5:00 pm.
Winter in Fontana is always an exciting time for the City. Festival of Winter activities include a snow zone, game zone, arts and crafts, bounce houses for the kids, multiple onstage performances and the Toyland Train giving rides throughout the day. Additionally, there are food vendors and other miscellaneous local vendors available for those who want to grab a bite to eat or maybe do some holiday shopping.
In addition to activities at Miller Park, holiday themed performances are taking place at the Steelworkers’ Auditorium all day. Experience “The Magic and Illusions of Taylor Hughes”. Shows starting at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm. The second performance of the day is the Carole Lynne Dance Studio Showcase featuring a local youth dance ensemble. Performances starting at 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm. The last performance of the day is the Nancy Sample Dance Show showcasing students from Fontana’s local community center dance classes. The show starts at 4:15 pm. All performances are free and seating is limited so arrive early!
Prior to the festivities at Miller Park and the Steelworkers’ Auditorium, the Exchange Club’s Christmas parade starts at 10:00 a.m. on the corner of Arrow Boulevard and Sierra Avenue. Santa will be appearing in the parade and available afterwards for pictures in the Lewis Library and Technology Center located at 8437 Sierra Avenue.
Residents are also encouraged to welcome in the new winter season during the Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, December 9 at the City Hall Courtyard located at 8353 Sierra Avenue. The ceremony starts at 5:30 p.m.
