PRESS RELEASE
Open
Studio at the Art Depot in June
Release Date: May 22, 2008
Fontana,
California, May 22, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite residents from the Inland Empire to the
Art Depot at 16822 Spring Street for Open Studio events in June. The Open Studio offers an introduction to various
art techniques and popular works of art every Friday from noon to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The events are free and materials are provided. Open Studio topics for June include:
Liquid Water Color (June 6-7) will introduce new artists to the world of liquid water color, a variation
on the standard water color paint. Students will create their own designs to take home.
Wood Burning (June 13-14) is a technique that takes a steady hand and keen eye. Styles vary depending
on the tools and materials used as well as the artists techniques. Participants in the Open Studio will receive
instruction in Wood Burning as well as the opportunity to practice the art with the helpful guidance of an instructor.
Bird House (June 20-21) brings participants closer to nature through the creation of tall rectangular
bird houses put together and decorated while at the Open Studio. A definite exploration into creativity, the
session offers plenty of opportunities for formal or abstract designs.
Pop Art (June 27-28) returns. Participants will use different colors on the same image to create a piece
reminiscent of the late Andy Warhol.
