Fontana, California, March 31, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite area residents to cook, kick, and run with Healthy Fontana this April.

On Saturday, April 5 the morning starts early with the return of the popular Health and Fitness Boot Camp at Koehler Park, 15352 Walnut Avenue at 7:00 a.m. The class, available for $20 for four weeks, is for anyone ages 18 and older who wants to tone the body, improve strength and endurance, or learn new team building exercises. The Boot Camp is taught by local Katherine Davis of KATZ Outdoor Fitness and is available to all physical fitness levels.

Later on Saturday, April 5, the Healthy Fontana Fast, Fresh, and Fabulous Cooking Class will feature chef Saundra Moreno at Shady Trails Parkhouse, 15800 South Park Lane from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Pre-registration is required for this free class. This month, the year of colorful and healthful foods continues with an entire class focusing on green (antioxidant) foods. Moreno is sure to teach the audience how to cook some easy-to-make meals that will delight the family. The Healthy Fontana Fast, Fresh, and Fabulous classes are offered the first and third Saturday of the month. The same recipes will feature on Saturday, April 19 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. KFON, area access channel 3, tapes all cooking sessions. The shows are aired on Saturdays and Sundays beginning at 10:00 am. Please visit www.fontana.org for further information or a listing of the viewing schedule.

On the morning of April 19, Healthy Fontana will co-sponsor the Kids Fitness Challenge 5k Run/Walk/Ride beginning at 7:45 am at the Auto Club Speedway, 9300 Cherry Avenue. The event features a climbing wall, farmer's markets, AJ's House for Parent's and Pre-Schoolers, Chivas, sports and fitness activities.
