offers classes in Creativity, Etiquette, Safety, and Fiscal Responsibility

Fontana,
California, May 19, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite residents to register for upcoming educational
classes offered by the City of Fontana Community Services Department. Classes for youth ages 1.5 to 5 are available
to help develop motor and social skills, tutoring for older students and English as a Second Language (ESL) for
anyone ages 18 and older. Times, dates, and locations vary. All classes begin the last week of May and are 4
weeks in duration.
Classes for toddlers that encourage growth and creativity are available at both the Cypress neighborhood center
located at 8380 Cypress Avenue and the Don Day neighborhood center located at 14501 Live Oak Avenue. Letter
Learner at the Cypress neighborhood center is designed to help children ages 4 - 5 to focus on the alphabet.
The class is $12 for 4 weeks and begins Friday, May 30. Learn with Fun at the Don Day neighborhood
center is offered to children ages 1.5 to 5 and begins Friday, May 30. Students will enjoy learning about music,
books, and doing hands on crafts. The class is $20 for 4 weeks and a $5 supply fee is due to the instructor the
first day, Friday, May 30.
Language Arts Tutoring is available to students from kindergarten to high school through the Don Day
neighborhood center at Canyon Crest Elementary, 11851 Cherry Avenue. The class is offered for $25 for 4 weeks
and has been created to assist those having difficulties reading and answering questions from text books. Classes
begin Tuesday, May 27.
The ESL Class for adults ages 18 and older is available at the Don Day neighborhood center. The class is for
anyone interested in learning English. The class is $40 for 4 weeks and is conveniently offered during the lunch
hour beginning Thursday, May 29.
