Classes Promote Science and Technology

Fontana,
California, April 22, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite adults and children to explore the worlds
of science and technology by registering for upcoming classes in science, chemistry, and computer applications.
All classes are taught at the Heritage Neighborhood Center, 7350 W. Liberty Parkway. Times and fees vary depending
on the class.
Tech Zones are available for the whole family. Tech Zones are available for adults, kids/teens, and pee wee.
Classes are $40 for 4 weeks for ages 8 and older, $30 for ages 5 to 7. Each class will introduce participants
to the keyboard and standard applications. Adults (16 and older) will learn to improve typing speed, use Power
Point, Excel, Internet, and more. Kids/teens (ages 8 to 15) will learn to create slide shows, write books, search
the internet, and more. Pee Wee (ages 5 to 7) tech zone students will learn how to properly use the keyboard,
terms, parts of hardware. Classes begin Tuesday, April 29.
Mad Science System 5 is a great one hour weekly program that introduces students in first grade to
gravity, moving motion, radial robots, energy bursts, and more. The first class is Monday, June 23 and is $104
for 4 weeks.
Crazy Chemworks is $114 for 8 weeks and students from second grade and higher to lab lessons. Students
work with pipettes, stirring rods, and Erlenmeyer flasks. Each class ends with a special demonstration offered
by the instructor. The first class is Monday, June 23 and is $114 for 8 weeks.
