Registration for Fontana Fitness Classes Underway

Fontana, California, April 22, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite residents to register for upcoming fitness classes at Don Day Neighborhood Center (located at 14501 Live Oak Avenue), Cypress Neighborhood Center (located at 8380 Cypress Avenue), and Heritage Neighborhood Center (located at 7350 W. Liberty Parkway). Fitness classes are available for all ages and abilities. Fees and locations vary, pre-registration is required. On-site registration will not be accepted.

Fitness classes with a sports twist are available through the Don Day Neighborhood Center. Classes include Ice Hockey and Skating for $51 at the Ontario Ice Rink, 1225 W. Holt Boulevard.

Don Day Neighborhood Center Parent and Me Soccer classes at Southridge Park, 14501 Live Oak begin Monday, April 28 and is $40 for 4 weeks. Students will receive a great introduction to soccer in a safe environment and both parent and child will receive a free tee shirt.

Other opportunities at Don Day include Co-Ed Boot Camps beginning Tuesday, April 29 ($40 for 4 weeks for ages 18 and older), Yoga and Pilates beginning Tuesday, April 29 ($30 for 4 weeks for ages 18 and older), Jazzercise begins Monday, April 28 ($32 for 4 weeks), as well as an all new Family Yoga or Kids Yoga each is $30 for 4 weeks for students 7 and older. Both begin Monday, April 28 and are held at Jurupa Hills Middle School at 10755 Oleander Avenue.

Traditional fitness classes are also available through the Heritage Neighborhood Center. The facility offers Jazzercise for $37 for 4 weeks for ages 13 and older beginning Monday, April 28. Tai Chi as a Way of Regimen beginning Friday, May 2 will teach students 16 and older the art of meditation mixed with martial arts. Classes are $50 for 4 weeks.

Yoga for ages 16 and older is available at Cypress Neighborhood Center beginning Friday, May 2 for $25 for 4 weeks. The class is also available to seniors for $15 for 4 weeks.
