Don
Day neighborhood center offers a wide array of classes

Fontana,
California, May 20, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite the public to register for upcoming classes
at the Don Day neighborhood center located at 14501 Live Oak Avenue. A wide array of opportunities await the
family with classes for new musicians, athletes, childcare providers needing CPR training, and adults looking
to take advantage of the all new one-day seminars.
Flute and guitar lovers will appreciate the new music lessons offered at Don Day. Beginning Monday, June 2 the Flute-a-Phone class
will meet for ages 6 to 10 at Chaparral Elementary, 14000 Shadow Drive. The class is $50 for 4 weeks and teaches
the basics on how to read and play music with the flute. Private Guitar Lessons also beginning on
Monday, June 2 at Chaparral Elementary from 8:00 to 8:30 p.m. offers students ages 10 and older an opportunity
to improve techniques on either an acoustic or electrical guitar. The class is $75 for 4 weeks. Students provide
their own instruments for either class.
Athletes will enjoy improving techniques, building endurance, and acquiring new skills through Soccer Skillz
Camp, Parent and Me Soccer Skillz, Co-Ed Boot Camp, Yoga and Pilates, or Horsemanship.
The Soccer Skillz programs for ages 10 to 17 or parents with youth ages 2 to 5 promote physical fitness
while playing soccer. Participants may learn new techniques, tactics, or experience personal character development. Soccer
Skillz Camp is $30 for 4 weeks beginning Friday, May 30 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Parent and Me Soccer
Skillz is $40 for 4 weeks beginning Monday June 2. Times vary depending on age. Participants in either
class will receive a t-shirt.
The Co-Ed Boot Camp is every Tuesday and Thursday for $40 for 4 weeks for adults ages 18 and older.
The class will help burn calories, incorporate yoga stretches, and help improve cardiovascular fitness.
Another way of improving endurance and toning muscles is with Yoga and Pilates. The class, offered on Tuesdays
for $30 for 4 weeks alternates between Yoga and Pilates. Through two different techniques, participants will
be able to increase flexibility and overall strength. The class is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Horsemanship for children ages 6 to 12 is offered at Foxcroft Farms, located at 15389 Carpenter Avenue
in Chino from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays for $160 for 4 weeks. The class teaches horsemanship and safety
for beginning to intermediate riders.
The popular one-day seminars are back with Tax Planning for $5 on Wednesday, May 21; Estate Planning on
Tuesday, May 27 for $5; Credit Improvement on Wednesday, June 4 for $5; and How to Pay for College
without Going Broke on Thursday, June 5 for $6. Some classes are free to seniors. All classes are for adults
ages 18 and older.
