Open Studio Events at the Art Depot
Release Date: May 5, 2008
Fontana,
California, May 1, 2008. The Mayor and City Council announce May Open Studio events at the Art Depot,
located at 16822 Spring Street. The Open Studio hours are Fridays from noon to 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 1:00
to 6:00 pm. Materials are provided, the sessions are free, and each studio is open to all ages. Sessions offer
an educational introduction about the project as well as assistance from qualified staff.
Tona Animal Masks will be offered on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3. The session will offer students an opportunity
to explore the African jungle by creating masks of lions, tigers, and other species using techniques as explained
in the Open Studio sessions.
Bouquets and Flowers on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10 will teach students to create beautiful and colorful
paper flowers for display.
Origami, a favorite for many visitors, will feature on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17. The program will
include learning the skills and techniques needed to properly fold and create animal and flower origami pieces
based on the ancient Chinese tradition.
Color Wheels will feature on Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24. The wheels will chart the primary colors and
the session will give students an opportunity to understand the basic prinicples of color and display.
Still Life Lessons on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31 is a wonderful introduction to the popular Still Life
Drawing Class offered monthly to area residents.
The Open Studio events are a wonderful opportunity to learn about art and the various techniques used by professionals

artists Tuesday through Thursday form 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday from
