| The City of Fontana is now accepting nominations for the Sports Wall of Fame.
Application Deadline – June 1, 2007 - Closed
Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony –
July 20, 2007 @ Sierra Lakes Country Club
|
Applications are available at the following locations :
City Hall, Recreation Administration Office, Human Resources Office, Cypress, Don Day, Jack Bulik, and Josephine Knopf, Community Centers.
An application will be mailed upon request. The Wall of Fame is dedicated to honoring the rich history of the City of Fontana’s many sports coaches, athletes, teams, and administrators. Coaches, athletes, teams, and administrators who are nominated and subsequently elected to the Wall of Fame will be permanently enshrined with a plaque on the Wall of Fame, located at the Ralph M. Lewis Sports Complex.
Please include any media sources which may assist the nomination committee in selecting the most deserving Fontana sport legend.
Listed below is the general criteria for possible nominees to be considered for induction. |
| General Criteria - Team
- High School varsity teams who were champions of at least their division of CIF
- Travel or Club teams who have won a district, county, or state title
- Youth baseball, football, softball, and soccer teams who have gone on to a regional or World Series level of play. This may include any team from the City of Fontana who has gone on to compete in any national or internationally sanctioned event.

General Criteria - Coach

Fontana Unified School District coaches of any sports whose teams went on to win at least one CIF Title or multiple league titles
- Fontana Youth Sport league coaches who have guided their teams to a regional tournament on multiple occasions
- Fontana club or travel ball coaches who have won multiple championships in their given sports.
- All coaches who are nominated must have been an active head coach or manager for a span of five years in the City of Fontana

General Criteria - Athlete
-
High School Varsity athlete who earned all CIF honors
- Club or Tournament player who has earned all tournament honors on multiple occasions
- Any athlete from the City of Fontana who went on to excel at the collegiate, professional, or international level
|
General Criteria - Administrator
-
Served on a Fontana Board of Directors
- Served as League president or school Athletic Director
- Coordinated Fontana Leagues
- Contributed on a regular basis to any Fontana youth sport activity
- Administrator must have administered for a youth sports organization in the City of Fontana for a period of at least five consecutive years.
