area, will introduce students and families to the many wonders of the outdoors.

A Night at the Museum
Join our fearless families of “trick or treaters”
who will wander through a spook-filled museum and venture
out on our Haunted Hike. It is a night filled with ghosts and goblins, costume
judging, treats and prizes.
Evening Star Parties
Join the Nature Center and the Riverside Astronomical
Society on a tour through summer’s night sky. Amateur astronomers from the
society will be on hand with their telescopes to show viewers planets, galaxies
and nebulae. An exciting evening for both budding and experienced amateurs.
School Field Trips
The Nature Center offers activity-based science and history
programs, keyed into CA Content Standards, for grades K-12. Students will
tour the Mary Vagle Museum, Nature Center, and pond. Our interactive activities
will introduce students and teachers to the large variety of species and vegetation
in Fontana.
Scouting Programs
The Nature Center offers a variety of opportunities for
young scouts to work on merit badges, pins and belt loop requirements. Scout
groups are also welcome to come and enjoy exciting outdoor activities.
Volunteer Docent Group
Individuals with an interest in becoming a part of an
exciting new environmental education program are needed to apply for our volunteer
docent group. Retired or part-time teachers are strongly encouraged to apply.

Nature Discovery Field Trip Program
Designed for elementary school students, this trip will
provide students with a tour of the Mary Vagle Museum &
Nature Center and a short walk around the Nature Center's
pond (weather permitting) to provide students with wonderful sights, sounds,
and an exciting nature experience. The tour also includes live reptiles for
viewing.
