About Josephine Knopf Senior Center
Since opening their doors in October 1968, the Josephine Knopf Senior Center has offered a wide variety of
programing for Fontana residents 55 years of age and older. Developing new interests and creating lasting friendships
in a warm and friendly environment has been achieved by providing innovative programs specifically geared towards
the growing Fontana senior community. Center staff focuses on assisting seniors and their families by being
a single source of information. Center staff have many resources and contacts with local organizations, agencies,
and groups dedicated to assisting seniors. Give them a chance to help you talk to the right group to save time

Department of Aging and Senior Services
Department staff administers county-wide adult protection services, in-home support services, counseling, family
caregiver support program, information and assistance program, long-term care ombudsman program, and much more.

Senior Lunch Program
Home-cooked meals are served Monday through Friday at 11:30 am for $3 per person. Ten (10) day meal tickets
are available for $30 and twenty (20) day meal tickets are $60. Pick up your monthly menu today!
Health Assessment by County Nurse
A San Bernardino County Health Nurse will visit the center the 3rd Monday of each month and will provide
FREE medical
assessments and referrals (as needed). This valuable service will be offered between the hours of 9:00 a.m.
and 11:30 a.m. For more information please call the senior center (909) 428-8376 between the hours of 8:00
a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The Senior Transportation program is a para-transit program for Fontana senior residents. The service transports
residents to hospitals, doctors, shopping, and beauty shops within the city limits of Fontana to the Knopf
Senior Center lunch program. Appointment and meal program transportation is available Monday - Friday from
8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Senior Shopping Days are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Transportation passes,
which expire on December 31st of each year, are available for $25.00. Non-pass transportation is $1.00 each
way or $2.00 round trip.
