Programming at the Heritage Neighborhood Center
Given the recreational and family atmosphere surrounding the Village of Heritage, the new programming for the Neighborhood Center has been planned to reflect the lifestyles of the residents.

Program favorites such as Jazzercise, Tai Chi, and Olympic-Style Judo are all a part of the Heritage neighborhood center class lineup. There are many more however that are guaranteed to keep the kids, parents, and grandparents coming to the center almost daily.

Artistic rendering of the Heritage Community Center
One of these exciting new classes at the Heritage neighborhood center includes the Tech Zone programs for all ages. Whether an adult needs additional training on the computer keyboard or a child is obviously curious about the home computer, everyone will win with the Tech Zone. The Adult Tech Zone introduces speed typing, Microsoft Word, Power Point, and more. The Kid/Teen or Pee Wee Tech Zones each offer anyone ages 8-15 or 5-7 with appropriate introductions to programs, speed typing (for the teen tech zone) and a basic introduction to computer hardware and components.

Science classes to include Mad Science System 5, Crazy Chemworks, and Academy for Future Space Explorers are all available this summer for students in first and second grades. The classes, which are eight weeks in duration, are held on Monday evenings for one hour and remind students that summer and science can be enjoyed all at one time. Some of the fun experiments children will participate in over their summer vacations include radical robots, lab techniques with demonstrations, or student activities straight from the NASA Langley Research Center in Virginia.

The Heritage Neighborhood Center also offers personal programming to help involved parents give their children direction without being overbearing.

Youth programming includes All About Me! a class for young ladies that will help them to find and define their own inner and outer beauty; Mind your Manners etiquette classes for children; Instilling Character and Building Self-Confidence in Kids; even self-defense for girls is offered through Winning Edge Child Awareness Rapid Escape (W.E.C.A.R.E.); Fight like a Girl (F.L.A.G.); and Girls on Guard (G.O.G.)

Computers for all ages; computer lab; arts and crafts; self-defense for children; Salsa/Latin/Folklorico; Ballet/Tap/Jazz; Polynesian Dance/Musical Theater and Music; Homework assistance; Tiny Tots and more; etiquette, and more.

Adults and teens will also benefit from classes that cover credit cards, real-estate, and college preparation, any of which will promote a sense of fiscal responsibility for those about to enter the world of finance.
