As of February 2006

The City of Fontana Community Garden is designed for the gardening activities of the residents of Fontana. Pursuant to the City Mission, no use will be in conflict with City or State ordinances. The City of Fontana reserves the right to cancel the Community Garden Use Permit without notice due to unforeseen circumstances or non-compliance to the rules and procedures.

Application And Payment Of Fees

  • Applications will be accepted at the February 23, 2006 Community Garden Meeting and payments will be taken beginning March 1. Individuals who would like to lease a garden plot after the February 23 meeting may do so at the Civic Auditorium with the Facilities Coordinator between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Availability of garden plots may be limited. Garden plots are assigned on a "first-come, first-served basis". In the event that all garden plots are in use, a waiting list will be maintained. The Civic Auditorium is located at 9460 Sierra Ave., Fontana. For information on availability, lease agreements, garden rules and procedures contact the Facilities Coordinator at the (909) 428-8360 ext. 234.
  • Participants must be residents of the City of Fontana. Proof of residency required at time of application. (utility bill, CA I.D. or CA drivers license.)
  • Waiting list participants will be contacted either by phone or mail when a garden plot becomes available. Once the City has initiated contact, participants will have one (1) week to decide if they would like to lease a garden plot. After one (1) week has expired, the next participant on the waiting list will be contacted.
  • Contacts for current participants or list members with incorrect addresses or phone numbers will be considered unavailable.
  • There is a limit of one (1) garden plot per household. Schools, group homes, or other non-profit agencies are limited to two (2) plots based on availability. Garden plots measure approximately 24’ X 32’, 18’ X 32’, and 12’ X 32’ with (2) two ADA plots also available. Fees for these plots are as follows:
