City of Fontana Facilitates the Expansion of
Chaffey College’s Fontana Center

Mayor Mark Nuaimi and the City Council members as well as other government and Chaffey College officials held a ground breaking for the expansion of Chaffey College’s Fontana Center.

The partnership between Chaffey College and the City of Fontana has proven exceedingly successful for both institutions. Construction of the new facility is made possible due to the $230 million Chaffey College bond measure approved by voters back in 2002. This new development will double the size of the current Fontana Center with the construction of a new 10,000 square foot building.

In order to facilitate the construction of the new building and additional parking, the city, through its Redevelopment Agency, acquired 13 needed parcels, which represents approximately five additional acres of land, at a cost of approximately $5 million.

Chaffey College’s Fontana Center is located at 16855 Merrill Avenue.
