Adventures of a Bookworm: the Fontana Days Festival is Back
Visiting the Fontana Days Festival is a local tradition.
After 96 years the annual Fontana Days Festival is still going strong. Now it is almost here and once again the Exchange Club of Fontana is ready to signal the beginning of summer with rides, games, a parade, livestock auction, and great entertainment.
The fun begins Thursday, May 28 and runs through Sunday, May 31st at Veterans Park, located at 17255 Merrill Avenue. Don’t miss out on this great, low cost, family event as we celebrate Adventures of a Bookworm, a topic that will remind us all of the changes that the new Lewis Library and Technology Center has brought to the community, as well as provide an inspirational theme for this year’s parade participants.
“The theme, Adventures of a Bookworm,” explains Fontana Days Festival planner Toni Lewis, “opens up all sorts of ways for people to use their imaginations while building floats for the parade. We, [Fontana Exchange Club], also thought it was another way to make our wonderful new library part of this year’s celebration.”
Celebrate Fontana Days at Veterans Park with carnival rides, dance contests, and live entertainment.
Last year’s event had over one hundred entrants and offered a great deal of fun to those who were also participating in the annual Fontana Days Run. This year with the two events being held during different weeks, planners are hopeful that they will have even more registrants and participants at the parade and carnival.
