Did You Know?
  • 2 dogs can produce 67,000 puppies in 6 years.
  • 2 cats can produce 420,000 kittens in 7 years.
There are currently 8 million dogs, cats, puppies and kittens euthanized in the United States every year simply because there aren't enough homes for all of them. Besides preventing more unwanted puppies and kittens, spaying/neutering your dog or cat prevents diseases and prevents many behavioral problems that occur in unaltered pets. The risk of mammary cancer is greatly reduced if you spay your dog before age one. Also, cancers of the reproductive organs are eliminated. Behavioral problems such as aggressiveness towards same sex dogs, marking or spraying in the house and roaming to find a mate are also eliminated or reduced if you spay or neuter your pet.

Although there are an estimated 100 million cats and dogs kept by responsible and caring people in the United States, there is also a tragic number of these companion animals who suffer horrid cruelties associated with abandonment. Uncounted millions more suffer sickness, exposure, starvation and death on the streets of the nation's cities and towns, and in the fields and forests of the countryside.
