Neighborhood Watch Program
Uniting Neighbors in the Fight Against Crime

Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program which enlists the active participation of residents in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime in their communities.

The program is designed to empower residents to take simple steps necessary to discourage crime in their neighborhood. Through this program, residents learn how to make their homes, possessions, and families less likely to be victimized by crime. Participating residents also help make Fontana a safer place to live.

Neighborhood Watch involves:

-Neighbor's getting to know each other and working together in a program of mutual assistance
-Residents trained to recognize and report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods
-Implementation of crime prevention techniques such as Home Security, Operation Identification, Bicycle Safety, and Crime Awareness

The responsibility for apprehending criminals is still the prime responsibility of the Police Department.
