Junior Lifeguard
$100
Want to be a lifeguard, but not quite old enough? Here's your chance! This is a great course for aspiring lifeguards to learn basic water rescue, leadership techniques and how to respond during an emergency. Course is four weeks long.

First Aid, CPR, & AED

This course provides training for anyone who is interested in learning CPR and First Aid. This class is great for care takers, babysitters or anyone interested in knowing lifesaving skills. All participants must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to obtain certification.

Lifeguard Training
$160 
The course content and activities prepare candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries. Successful course completion requires full participation in classroom and skill lessons, as well as successful performance in skill and knowledge evaluations. All participants must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to obtain certification.

 Required prerequisites include:
  • Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously (12 laps)
    • Swim includes 100-yard front crawl, 100-yard breaststroke, and your choice or a combination of 100-yard front crawl / breaststroke
  • Must be able to swim 20 yards using front crawl / breaststroke, surface dive to a depth of seven feet, retrieve a 10-pound object and return to the surface, and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object in less than 100 seconds
  • Must be able to tread water without any arm movement for two minutes

*Potential participants must complete prerequisites prior to enrolling in a lifeguard training class.

First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22)
$60    
This course prepares candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to advanced emergencies seen on land. There is no water portion to this course. All participants must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to obtain certification.

Must have successfully completed a lifeguard training class with in the last year. Current Lifeguard certification must be shown prior to registration.
           
Safety Training for Swim Coaches
$20 (+ $19 Red Cross Fee)    
This course provides safety training for swim coaches and aquatic athletic trainers. This course includes both an online portion and an in-water skills session. All participants must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to obtain certification.

Water Safety Instructor

This course will prepare students to teach all levels of the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. All participants must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to obtain certification.

Required prerequisites include:
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must know how to properly swim 25 yards of front crawl (freestyle), back crawl (backstroke), elementary backstroke, sidestroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
  • Must be able to tread water and float on your back for one minute.
  • All prerequisites must be passed before registration.
