All swimmers must wear proper swim trunks. No denim, basketball, jersey or cotton shorts or t-shirts permitted in water. All guests must pay an entrance fee to enter the pool area. All children under the age of 6 must be within arms reach of an adult at all times.

Swim Lessons
DSC_1743.JPG The City of Fontana learn-to-swim programs are among the most comprehensive in the Inland Empire. We offer eight different levels in the morning and evening to fit almost anyone's schedule. Classes fill up fast so sign up today!  

Participants must take a swim test or have passed previous levels prior to enrollment. Swim tests will be held Monday-Thursday, 4:30pm-6:30pm. Additional $12 applies to non-residents. For more information, give us a call!

Classes    
Fontana Park Aquatic Center is proud to offer health and safety training in our beautiful classroom. Our classroom, with chairs and tables for 32 participants, overlooks the pool deck and provides the perfect setting to learn many valuable lifesaving skills. The aquatic staff provides American Red Cross Courses in CPR, First Aid, AED, Lifeguarding, Basic Water Rescue, and training as a Water Safety Instructor.
 
 

First Aid, CPR, & AED

This course provides training for anyone who is interested in learning CPR and First Aid. This class is great for care takers, babysitters, or anyone interested in knowing lifesaving skills.

The course content and activities prepares candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries. Successful course completion requires full participation in classroom and skill lessons, as well as successful performance in skill and knowledge evaluations. All participants must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to obtain certification.

Required prerequisites include:
     - Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously (12 laps)
              - 100-yard front crawl
              - 100-yard breaststroke
              - Your choice of the two or a combination of 100-yard front crawl/breaststroke
     - 10-pound brick retrieval in less than 100 seconds
     - 2 minute tread in the water without arm movement

First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22)

This course prepares candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to advanced emergencies seen on land. There is no water portion to this course. All participants must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to obtain certification.

Safety Training for Swim Coaches
$20 (+ $19 Red Cross Fee)
This course provides safety training for swim coaches and aquatic athletic trainers. This course includes both an online portion and an in-water skills session. All participants must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to obtain certification.

Water Safety Instructor

This course will prepare students to teach all levels of the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. All participants must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to obtain certification.                                    

Required prerequisites include:
     - 25 yards of front crawl/freestyle
     - 25 yard back crawl/backstroke
     - 25 yard elementary backstroke
     - 25 yard sidestroke
     - 25 breaststroke and butterfly
     - Must be able to tread water and float on your back for one minute

*Potential participants must complete prerequisites prior to enrolling into the course.

Teams
The Fontana Park Aquatic Center is home to premier aquatic teams coached by experienced professionals.                               
 
Tiger Sharks Water Polo 

The Tiger Sharks focus on teaching endurance, strength, and the fundamental skills of playing water polo. Participants will gain experience and knowledge necessary to compete in water polo.
Come take part in the fastest growing team at the Fontana Park Aquatic Center!

Prior to registering for the team, participants must pass a tryout session conducted by one of the coaches. Tryouts are conducted on a drop-in basis during the first week of each month. The tryout consists of a 50 yard freestyle swim, 50 yard breaststroke swim, and one minute tread.

The Fontana Aquatics Club offers an opportunity for children to enjoy the challenge of competitive swimming while being taught in an exciting, enjoyable atmosphere.

Aquatic Facility Availability
All City of Fontana pools are available when not in use for City-organized/ sponsored events. Rental times and dates are subject to approval. For more details and available dates and times, please contact the Fontana Park Aquatic Center at (909) 854 - 5106 or any community pool near you. Be sure to read over the Facility Reservation Application before making your reservation.
Fee Schedule
There is a two-hour minimum for all City pool rentals. A refundable trust deposit is required at the time of reservation. Deposit does not go toward facility balance.

Making your reservation
  1. Fill out a Reservation Form available at Fontana Park Aquatic Center or any community pool.
  2. Call or visit the pool site of your choice to find out if the desired date is available.
  3. Pay the facility deposit.
  4. Make your final payment of the balance at least 30 days before your event.
  5. Attend and enjoy your event with the City of Fontana Aquatic Staff.

Note: Cancellations less than 60 days prior to the event will result in 100% loss of funds. $100 cancellation fee and $10 refund fee will apply to all cancellations that occur at least 60 days prior to the event.
           

In addition to full facility rentals, Fontana Park Aquatic Center Offers:

Table Reservations: Fee $10/table. Reserve a table in the pavilion for the duration of one recreational swim session. Must rent a minim of four or five tables. Table reservation does not include admission into the park. For admission fees visit the Aquatics page
Lane Rental: Fee $20 per lane each lap swimming session. Does not include admission into lap swimming. Visit the Lap Swimming and Water Walking page for details on admission fees.

Note: Admission will be charged to anyone entering the facility; including
non-swimmers. All swimmers must wear appropriate swimming attire.

* All fees and hours are subject to change. Non-resident fee may apply. A $2 processing fee will be applied for all registrations.
