New Development & Construction
Assistance & Reviews
From the beginning of the planning process to final occupancy, the Fire Department assists developers, contractors, architects, and engineers to meet the fire protection requirements for all new buildings as well as improvement projects in existing buildings.
Some examples of what the Fire Department is responsible for reviewing are:
- All fire protection systems and fire alarm systems
- Building construction plans
- Fire apparatus access roads
- Fire hydrants and water supply
Plans are reviewed for compliance with the applicable fire and life safety regulations, codes, and ordinances. Our plan check turn-around time goal is 10 working days. Also, inspections are performed during construction to help make sure the work is done according to the plans that were approved.
If you would like to schedule an inspection, or obtain more information, such as plan check status, (please have your plan check file number ready FPCK15-000123), please contact Fontana Fire Prevention at (909) 428-8890.
