The Morningside Community Plan is bounded by Walnut Avenue on the north, the future extension of San Sevaine Avenue on the east, Baseline Avenue on the south, and Cherry Avenue on the west.
The Morningside Community Plan is a 120-acre residential and commercial community plan. The community plan is in conformance with the stated goals and objectives of the City of Fontana General Plan. The Morningside Community Plan contains residential and employment-generating uses within the same neighborhood. One beneficial aspect of this live / work approach to development is that it creates the opportunity for a job / housing balance on site, and therefore reduces the need for vehicular travel.
The Morningside Community Plan was approved for 402 single-family residential units on 71.6 acres with a potential of 20 additional dwelling units on a church site five acres. Additionally, the community plan reserved 9.9 acres of land for commercial uses and 33.5 acres for rights of way.
